Refresh your canoe skills with Steven and Ang to get ready for your canoe adventures this summer! We will start off on the flatwater and take you to the river in one comprehensive course.  You will learn and practice eddy turns and forward ferries to help you feel in control of your canoe so that you can put it where you want in the river.

River Canoeing Refresher, AB

Ghost Dam to Cochrane, Bow River AB
May 10 9am-4pm

Refresh your canoe skills with Steven and Ang to get ready for your whitewater canoe adventures this summer! You will practice eddy turns and forward ferries to help you feel in control of your canoe so that you can put it where you want in the river when it counts!

Southern Alberta Canoe Fiesta
Based out of the Crowsnest River area
May 30- June 2, 2026

Refresh and develop your canoe skills to get ready for your canoe adventures this summer! You will practice eddy turns and forward ferries to help you feel in control of your canoe so that you can put it where you want in the river when it counts!  It is the perfect program to celebrate the ice off and get ready for the canoe season.  We will be car camping and doing day trips which may include stretches of the Crowsnest River, Castle River and St Mary’s River.

Aha! Adventure 
Paddle Canada Intro to Tandem Moving Water Instructor
Barker Lake, SK
June 17-21, 2026

A successful candidate will be certified by Paddle Canada to teach on Class I water. Candidates will be evaluated on their paddling skills, teaching skills, and safety throughout the course. A successful Moving Water Introduction to Tandem candidate is considered capable of performing basic shore and water-based river rescues, including self-rescue. The candidate demonstrates instructor quality river maneuvers such as eddy turns and ferries while paddling tandem. Candidates will teach theory and paddling skills using participant centered learning and progression.

Spring Canoe Fiesta on the Churchill

Barker Lake, SK
June 17-21, 2026

5-day canoeing program for beginners to experienced paddlers. Refresh and develop your canoe skills to get ready for your canoe adventures this summer! We will help to develop your skills where you are at; for the beginner to experienced. You will join the appropriate group in the day, and then in the evening we will share our stories around the campfire. You will practice eddy turns and forward ferries to help you feel in control of your canoe so that you can put it where you want in the river when it counts!  It is the perfect program to celebrate the ice off and get ready for the canoe season.
